Osteoarthrosis Update in Diagnosis and Treatment

Osteoarthrosis (OA), a debilitating disease, commonly occurs due to degeneration of cartilages in joints. More commonly affected are the knee joints and hips.

OsteoarthritisImage of OA of Knee in MRIThe problem in treatment is late diagnosis of this condition. A new test that shows promise for the early diagnosis is Delayed Gondollium Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Cartilage(dGEMRIC).
In treatment, apart from weight reduction and physiotherapy; diclofenac in sustained release form and diacerin in combination have shown to potentiating effect of each other.
Besides this, application of diclofenac gel also has good pain reliving effect.
