There can be several causes of hoarseness of voice. Prolonged hoarseness of voice should be investigated for more serious diseases like cancer of larynx. Common causes include include;
Patient will be on antibiotics for a few days and if does not subside, the ulcer will be subjected to biopsy and pathological examination to know the exact cause of the ulcer.
- Inflammation of larynx,
- Excessive use/abuse of voice as in singers or teachers,
- Ulcer in vocal cord. etc.
