Hoarseness of Voice due to Ulcer in Left Vocal Cord

There can be several causes of hoarseness of voice. Prolonged hoarseness of voice should be investigated for more serious diseases like cancer of larynx. Common causes include include;

Inflammation of larynx,
Excessive use/abuse of voice as in singers or teachers,
Ulcer in vocal cord. etc.

Here is the photograph of left vocal cord ulcer with accompanied swelling of the surrounding.

Patient will be on antibiotics for a few days and if does not subside, the ulcer will be subjected to biopsy and pathological examination to know the exact cause of the ulcer.
