Tumour Diagnosis Made Easy

The essential way to confidently diagnose a tumor to be benign or malignant is tissue diagnosis. The quickest way at present is to go for fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC). Of course, if more tissue is required, one has to go for removal of more tissue in other forms of biopsy. Staining and reporting takes time at least some hours.
Now scientists claim to have made it easy by using a portable device like a smart phone powered with NMR ( Nuclear magnetic resonance). It works somewhat on same principle, the magnetic polarization and identification of nanoparticle attached tumor proteins.
The accuracy is more than that of examination under microscope and less is time consuming.
If at all it comes to the hand of clinicians, the patients will not have to wait anxiously for more time to know their disease, whether benign or a malignant disease.
